Strand's first book prompted a television interview on the Trinity Broadcasting Network.  This book, and her articles, have prompted radio interviews with Moody Broadcasting and other stations nationwide.  

National Guidepost's Writers Contest winner
Prize included a one-week workshop in New York.  Out of 6500 entrants, only 15 were chosen for this special workshop.

National Writer's Digest Chronicle Contest winner

San Jose Mercury News Silver Pen Award winner

for excellence in letter writing

Honorable mention in poetry category of Personal Journaling's "Joy of Writing" contest. 

Honored by the National League of American Penwomen, for proficiency in article writing.

Karen Strand spent many years in California where she was a member of the prestigious California Writers Club.  She served for 12 years on the steering committee of Santa Clara Valley Christian Writers.  She is former health editor and reporter for The Times Media, Inc. a newsgroup located in San Jose.

 In 1990 she returned to her home state in the Pacific Northwest, where she is an active member of the Evergreen Christian Writers.
